As a Rhenish girl I actually should be really euphoric outside on the streets and somewhere celebrate Carnival. In the locality are really enough Carnival strongholds and so a number of parties and parades. But somehow all this foolish traditions couldn’t really catch me and I’m happy, when I have my peace at Carnival and especially when my birthday isn’t on Carnival. 😀

And everyone, who prefer to sprwal at home (especially with this weather) and still need a tasty feast for your Sunday, shouldn’t miss out the following recipe. Perfect, when you have some leftover bananas at home. Because we have Banana Bread again! <3 A secret love of mine. Refined with raspberries and chocolate it’s just delish and when it’s still slightly warm a special treat!

Ingredients
  1. 110 g soft butter
  2. 190 g sugar
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 240 g flour
  5. 1 tsp baking soda
  6. ½ tsp vanilla extract
  7. 4 big, ripe bananas
  8. 125 g fresh raspberries
  9. 50-100 g chocolate of your choice
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C/350 °F. Grease a loaf tin and dust it with flour.
  2. Mix butter and sugar into a creamy mass.
  3. Add one egg and half of the flour and mix everything. Repeat with the other egg, the remaining flour and the baking soda.
  4. Peel 3 bananas and mash them with a fork. Add mashed bananas and vanilla extract into the bowl and mix it through.
  5. Chop the chocolate and fold it together with the raspberries in the dough.
  6. Pour the batter into the loaf tin. Peel the 4. banana and cut it lengthways in half. Place them on the cake.
  7. Let it bake for about 50 minutes. If the bread becomes to dark cover it with tinfoil.
  8. Insert a metal skewer into the centre of the loaf and if it comes out clean the banana bread is ready. Take the form out of the oven and let it cool a bit, before you remove the tin.
