Peanuts and chocolate!

For the first time I tried to make sweets by myself. So I used an original as the template and made my own version at home. And it was really easy. The problem: I don’t even know the original version!

Peanut Butter Cups 6

Namely I tried to make Peanut Butter Cups. The original is from America from the brand Hershey’s (Reese). And because we don’t have this tasty small fellas here in Germany and I’ve never been to America I really can’t tell you if my homemade cups taste like the originals. 🙂

But what I can say is: The homemade tastes so good! 🙂 Even my sister likes them even though she’s not into the taste of peanuts!

  1. 300 g whole milk or dark chocolate (Just what you prefer. I used whole milk.)
  2. 1 glass creamy peanut butter (350 g)
  3. 3 tbsp melted butter
  4. 100 g powdered sugar
  5. Mini Cupcake papers
  1. Empty the peanut butter into a bowl and stir in the powdered sugar. Best if you use your hand-held mixer. Now add the melted butter and mix it with the mass.
  2. Melt the chocolate in water bath or in the microwave. Place the cupcake papers in a tray for mini muffins. Now fill one teaspoon of chocolate into each paper and spread it to the sides as well. You can do it with your finger or with a spoon. For me the spoon worked best. Set the remaining chocolate aside.
  3. Once you filled and spreaded all the cupcake papers with chocolate, place the tray for 5-10 minutes in the fridge.
  4. Now fill the peanut butter mass into the cooled chocolate cups. Best way to do it is with an icing bad. When you’ve filled all the cups, flatten the mass a little with your finger and place the remaining chocolate (about 1 tsp each) on the cups to seal them.
  5. Place your cups for further 30 minutes in the fridge.
  6. Remove the paper from the cups and now you can enjoy your Peanut Butter Cups!
